International Beverage Packaging Association

The International Beverage Packaging Association
(IBPA) is an organization dedicated to enhancing the skills, expertise and image of current and future professionals in the beverage packaging industry. It represents over 500 production-level members of the industries, with members representing companies such as Anheuser Busch Inc., Coca-Cola, Coors Brewing Co., Ocean Spray Cranberries, Owens-Illinois, New Belgium Brewing, Johnson Diversey, Lasertechnics, Zapata, L.W. Chemicals, GE Fanuc Automation and many more.

Founded in the late 1940’s as “The Greater New York Bottle Shop Superintendents”, this organization composed of 7 local brewers met to discuss common production problems and sharing parts for common equipment. With over 50 years of evolvement, today’s IBPA has grown to more than 500 members throughout the United States and other parts of the world. To accomplish its mission, IBPA provides a host of information and knowledge resources, networking opportunities and educational programs for both its members and other interested industries.

In 1988, the national association established a scholarship fund named after its first national president, Richard F. Heaney, now known as the Richard F. Heaney Memorial Scholarship Fund. To date, this fund has awarded over $120,000 to college students seeking beverage-packaging careers. In addition to this scholarship fund, local chapters have also awarded local scholarships to students seeking beverage-packaging careers.

IBPA is a non-profit organization voluntarily served by its members, for the membership, students and the industry as a whole.
